Are you a boater and a skilled business developer with a technical background who wants to lead our expansion in the world's most dynamic marine market? We are now looking for an Area Sales Manager responsible for driving growth through our distributors in Asia. Welcome to Zipwake.
As an Area Sales Manager, you will have overall responsibility for our sales and market presence in Asia. Your main task will be to develop and coach our network of distributors to ensure that our technical solutions reach shipyards, boat builders, consumers, and the aftermarket. You will act as the technical expert in the sales process and the bridge between our product development in Sweden and the requirements of the Asian markets. Responsibility for the entire APAC region is included in the role, with a focus on key markets such as South Korea, China, Taiwan, Japan and Australia.
Zipwake is growing rapidly. Today, we are the market leader and have distributors in 34 countries serving customers on all continents, offering the market's widest range of interceptors. In 2026, we will continue to focus on our latest dynamic trim control system – Zipwake Pro – where you will play an important role.
The position is full-time, based at our head office in Gothenburg, Sweden, and involves international travel.
Your main responsibilities
Distributor development: Maximize the potential of existing channels and strategically identify new partners.
Technical support & training: Conduct technical product reviews and training initiatives for distributors' sales staff and technicians.
Business plan negotiation: Set up and follow up on annual business plans, budgets, and marketing activities together with our partners.
Trade shows and events: Represent Zipwake at major venues such as trade shows and boat builder visits.
Who you are
We are looking for someone who thrives at the intersection of advanced technology and proactive business acumen. You are used to working independently and have the cultural sensitivity required to build successful relationships in the APAC region.
We expect you to have:
Technical background: An engineering degree or equivalent solid technical experience from the marine industry, automotive or other regulated industries.
Sales experience: Proven success in international B2B sales and working with distributor models.
Industry knowledge: Genuine interest and understanding of marine systems.
Communication: You speak and write English fluently and are skilled at giving presentations that convince both technicians and decision-makers.
Willingness to travel: The position involves travel to and within the APAC region, approximately 4–5 business trips a year.
Language: Much of the work is done in English, so it is important that you are completely comfortable speaking and writing in English.
